Birth of "Sonarpur Arohi":

In 1982, a group of young adults created “Sonarpur Arohi.” The unincorporated Twenty-four parganas district’s first climbing club is called Arohi. Arohi began his trip by overcoming a variety of difficulties. Exploring new territory and preventing pollution from harming the environment are our key goals. Every year, activities including adventurous trekking, mountaineering, summer treks, rock climbing, coastal and desert treks, cycling, and skiing are arranged with the goal of inspiring the next generation. Arodhi has already accomplished a number of magnificent feats because to your affection and well wishes.

Aim of "Sonarpur Arohi":

Our major goals are to cherish nature, preserve nature, conserve the environment, guard against pollution, and raise awareness of nature. In addition to igniting young interest in adventure sports like mountain climbing As a consequence, it will be feasible to raise awareness about environmental protection on the one hand, and we anticipate that many Bengalis will volunteer to climb the mountain on the other. Every year, Arohi is actively seeking new talent.

 

Accomplishments—

  1. Both north and south successful Mount Everest expeditions (Nepal and Tibet). (Biplab Baidya, Satyarup Siddhanta, Rudra Prasad Halder)
  2. A successful climb of Mount Kanchanjunga,  Rudra Prasad Halder and Biplab Baidya.
  3. Satyrup Siddhant completed a successful expedition to the seven continents’ tallest peaks and volcanoes.
  4. (Enters himself as the youngest climber in the world in the Guinness Book of World Records.)
  5. Dilip Bhattacharya’s Ganga Sagar to Rann of Kutch Coastal Line Trek. (In India, first)
  6. Chandan Biswas’ Trans-Himalayan Cycling Expedition.
  7. The most successful cycling expedition was up Mount Kilimanjaro, which is the highest point on the African continent. Ujjal Pal.
  8. Construction of artificial indoor rock wall. (For Everyone)
  9. More than 86 climbing trips within and outside of the nation.
